Every MBA program offers basic courses in accounting, finance, marketing, management, and quantitative methods. Virtually every school also permits students to major or concentrate their study in accounting, finance, marketing, management, or production, by taking additional courses beyond the required offering. Some schools may permit more than one concentration. The number of advanced courses that makes up a major or concentration may vary from school to school.
Some schools offer specialized majors, such as real estate, human resource management, taxation, and technology management. These specialized concentrations may be offered in the form of a graduate degree other than MBA, such as MS or Ph.D.
