Student/Faculty Ratio

Not everyone agrees that the educational process is more effective when classes are small and there is close contact between individual students and faculty. Most people do agree however, that these factors make the educational process more personable and enjoyable. A small student-to-faculty ratio implies small classes and close contact among students and faculty. The most exclusive schools boast of ratios of 12:1 or 15:1, while at the other extreme some schools have a ratio of more than 30:1.

Schools with lower student/faculty ratios receive higher positions in the rank list.
