Hi Everyone
I would like to apply for the MBA at the University of Warwick and Lancaster and perhaps Exerter Uni,
They say although a degree is an entry requirement, they will accept good candidates without one.
I have no degree but over 10 yrs of work experience, I have worked for fairly large corporations and set up my own businesses too- which have done ok.
What do you all think would be my chances of getting in?
Should I be looking to do a degree first?
Many thanks in advance
In my Executive MBA program, one student in class had only a high school diploma and no college degree. However, she had already been running different business for more than a decade, had good mathematical aptitude, and did well on the GRE, so the school accepted her. She turned out to be one of the top students in class, and one of the few who qualified for Phi Beta Kappa.
Schools look at many attributes before accepting a candidate for an MBA program. Schools are interested in having students with a diversity of backgrounds. If a school says they will make exceptions to the requirement to have a degree, then take them at their word.
Your chances of getting in will depend on the type of work experience you have (such as managing a business rather than just being employee somewhere), your oral and written communication skills, how well you do on an entrance exam, etc.

As per your concern about the university requirement, it doesn't seem to be required due to your hands on experience in your field. I'd only suggest you, just go for proper investigation about the universities norms. What are their policies etc. After having a good knowledge over it will help you.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Hi all friends
I have no degree but over 11 yrs of work experience, I have worked for fairly good corporations
would I get a chance to do my MBA from any univ. without degree??
See the second message in this thread. It's up to the university to decide to admit you based on your work experience.

It depends on the school in question, some schools require a minimum level of education (i.e. an undergrad degree). However, some business schools require a minimum level of business experience.
What do you want to get out of your MBA? based on your opening statement that you have 10 years experience I would recommend a school with similar student demographics as you would want to share experiences with similar professionals. Ashridge Business School (http://www.ashridge.org.uk/Website/Content.nsf/wDEG/Graduate+Programmes?opendocument) offers a part time and full time MBA where you don't need a degree but a minimum of 5 years work experience.
Be aware though that many schools require you to take an entrance exam or a GMAT.
Hope that helps!

Entry into the MBA without a bachelor degree is dependent on
successful completion of Graduate Diploma of Management at a credit
average..

It might be best if you contacted individual people responsible for recruiting on those courses, or for running them, and discussing your case with them. They're the only people who can tell you whether your work experience might waive the need for a first degree for their particular course. Good luck!
